Queen Sofia National Art Museum

Close to Madrid Atocha Train Station and metro, this museum is located at the southern end of the so-called Golden Triangle of Art. (The Golden Triangle of Art is a name given to the area around Paseo del Prado, where the Queen Sofia National Art Museum, Prado Museum and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum are located.)

The museum mainly displays works of Spanish art. Many of the most important works of Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí, two of Spain's best-known artists of the 20th century, are displayed here. The most well-known of these works is the Guernica painting by Picasso. In addition to these two artists, the museum's fixed collection includes works by Juan Gris, Joan Miró, Julio González, Eduardo Chillida, Antoni Tàpies, Pablo Gargallo, Pablo Serrano, Lucio Muñoz, Luis Gordillo, Jorge Oteiza and José Gutiérrez Solana.
